A hero is someone who commits a heroic act. A hero shouldn’t be judge on how they act their appearance or personality.  But should be judge on their distinguished courage their brave deeds, noble qualities and the fact that they put someone else before his or herself. The reason heroes are recognized at first is because of their bravery and courage. This essay will explain why a hero is someone who commits heroic acts and not someone whose behavior and personality fits what a hero is like.

In the movie “Hero” Bernie LaPlante rescued 54 people from a plane that caught fire right after it had crashed. He seen that the plane was on fire and heard the cries of others. He helped unlock the door. He went into the burning plane and rescued people who couldn’t get out on their own. That was a heroic act that involves courage and bravery. Bernie LaPlante act had nothing to do with his demeanor or manners.

If it wasn’t for this heroic act done by Bernie John Bubber would still remain unnoticed. The only reason John stepped up and said it was him who saved the people was for the money. He didn’t have the others before himself mentality until after he received the million dollars. On the other hand Bernie knew how dangerous it was to go into the burning plane but he still went in and rescued them without wanting a reward in return. He thought about the other people before he thought about his own self.

John’s actions were shown to be kind hearted, honest, generous and nice. Even thought he was a nice person this has nothing to do with him being a hero because he wasn’t characterizes as brave or courageous. There are considerable numbers of nice people who are not distinguished as a hero but people who are just simply nice.

Even though john may have been a better role model this had nothing do with being a hero. He didn’t perform any heroic acts he just took all the credit for it. Bernie put his own life on the line for others witch again I state shows the act of someone brave and courageous. Even though Bernie didn’t have the best of manners this didn’t influence his decision on helping others.

People are different when they are in groups. According to the article “in groups we shrink” by Carol Tarvis . When people are alone they tend to have a different mindset and respond to things differently than when they are in a group due to the nature of groups and individuals. This is known as ‘’diffusion of responsibility’’ or “social loafing.” The larger the group the weaker every person in it becomes. The people in the group feel as though they shouldn’t take action or control because someone has already done so. I agree with the idea that people in groups have a different mindset and also respond to things differently than someone who is by themselves.
For example I saw a crime show on life time about a lady who got abused by her husbands. There was a group of young guys playing hanging out in the park. They heard a scream and looked over and seen a man beating on a women. They watched in shock. The guy across the street seen what happened took out his phone and called the police, he then ran over there to help the lady .As he ran toward the guy he yelled ‘‘Hey! Stop get off!’’ the husband looked up at him and took off running. After scaring away the husband he stayed there with the unconscious lady and waited for help. The group of guy hanging in the park just stood there in stock as they watched the whole thing and didn’t take action.
A historical example would be Rosa Parks. It started with one voice. Even though many groups of people felt that segregation was unfair they didn’t take action toward justice. Once Rosa Parks spoke out about how segregation was unfair the groups of people then began to take action and started to protest, boycott and fight for justice.
Another example would be when I’m in class I tend to act different from when I go to my tutor session. When I’m in class and my teacher ask questions I don’t answer because I have a different mindset. I become lazy. I won’t raise my hand to answer the question because I would just think some 1 else will say the answer and there’s no need for me to say it. Appose to when I’m in my tutor session I interact and participate with my teacher. When he asks me a question I’ll answer, I respond faster and I also ask questions.
I agree with the idea that people in groups have a different mindset and also respond to things differently than someone who is by themselves because I have seen this in shows, history and personal experience. People by themselves generally respond faster to things. The examples used has shown this idea to be valid.

In the article “How and why is Music a Good Tool For Health?” by Elizabeth Scott she expressed that, many observations have proved that music can have a very large effect on a human body and mind. There is a developing group of health care recognized as music therapy. People who use the music to heal see the upper hand in using this tool. Even hospitals are starting to in force this method to help certain patients. It’s no stock that music has an effect on the body and brain in an enormous amount of ways. Music healing is developing in popularity due to the many benefits it has. I agree with the author music can affect our body and brain in a powerful way.
Music can affect your body in a different ways .when I’m upset or had a bad day I tend to listen to mu8sic. It generally takes my mind off of the situation that got me upset.it helps me calm down and relax my thinking. Depending on what song or what type of music I listen to it will put me in a certain type of mood. For example if I listen to rap music it will make me hype it will make me wants to be active. If I listen to R&B it will make me calm.
Even when I go to the choir rehearsal at the church and listen to the gospel music, once I leave the church my whole mood and thinking changes. When I listen to gospel music it uplifts my sprit.it gets me thinking about life it motivates me in a positive way and it also relaxes my mind. Even though I left with the same problems I went into the church with after listening to the gospel music I l felt less stressed out.

These examples I provided are ways that music has affected my body and mind at one point in my life. I definitely agree with the authors point music does affect our body and mind in a powerful way. Weather it makes you calm, hype, relaxed, or puts you in a positive mind set. Music will affect your body and mind.
